Clyde Forest Evans, 71, well-known Crawfordsville resident, died suddenly at his home Friday morning. Mr. Evans was president of the Masonic Cemetery Association, a member of Montgomery Lodge 50, F & AM, and of the Eastern Star. He belonged to the First Methodist Church in Crawfordsville, and was a member of the Eagles here and the Knights of Pythias Lodge at New Market. Born near Linnsburg Oct. 2, 1890, he was the son of Joshua and Amanda Duke Evans. He was married to Ura Keller, March 14, 1917. Mr. Evans had been a painting contractor in Crawfordsville most of his life. He was also deputy assessor for Union Township. His home here is at 1007 E. Market St. Survivors include his wife, a sister, Minnie Clark, of Urbana, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Hilton Whitaker will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday. – jlr
